Rebedding

REPAIRS

While roof restoration may not be a vital part of roof maintenance, repairs are. In our opinion roofs should be inspected every 10 years. However, most of the time repairs are only considered when a leak occurs or a visual defect is noticed.

Rebed and Point

This is required when the mortar that is bonding the ridge cap to the roof becomes cracked and loose. The ridge caps have to be removed and cleaned of old mortar. The ridge caps are then rebeded to roof with the new mortar. Ridge capping is then pointed with a flexible pointing the same colour as your roof.

In most cases if the mortar is in a reasonable condition it will be just as effective and less costly to repoint it in its current position.

Broken Tiles

Broken Tiles will leak, however, some tiles may only have small cracks in them and pose no reason for concern.

Valleys

Valleys collect a high volume of rain water and direct it to the guttering. Because of this high volume it is always an area of roof that must be considered when a leak is present.

Above is the correct manner of how a valley should be cleared of debris (Note: valley tiles are removed to ensure a thorough clean)
