Frequently Asked Questions
What type of tiles do I have?
Tiles come in both terracotta and concrete. Stamped
on the under side of the tile you should be able to find out something
about it.
e.g.: - The Brand - Monier, Wunderlich etc.
The Profile - Elabana, Marseille etc
Knowing this will help you when talking to someone
about your roof. Visit service call for more information.

Can Concrete tiles become
porous and leak?
The truth is that concrete and terracotta tiles
are naturally porous. They can absorb up to 5% of their weight in
water but even that's not enough to make them leak. It's the density
of the tiles that makes them waterproof, not the coating. However
recoating tiles will give your home a lift and increase its value.
What about Terracotta Tiles?
In our opinion the application of any sealer or
coating to terracotta tiles is unnecessary. Terracotta has a natural
beauty that never fades. If you find it hard to recognise that beauty
its probably because it is obscured by moss and lichen. You will
find that with the right treatment your roof will look like new
again without the application of any sealer or coating.
